Do I need to make an appointment to try on bridal gowns?
While appointments are not mandatory, we strongly recommend making one. This is to ensure we have a spacious room and a bridal consultant available, who can help assist you in and out of the gowns. We do our best to accommodate walk-ins.
What if I need to cancel or change my appointment?
Not a problem, just give us a call to let us know. We’d be happy to reschedule the appointment for a better day and time.
How long can I expect my bridal appointment to be?
Our appointment times generally last 60-90 mins. During that time, you and your consultant will talk about your wedding vision and your personal style to ensure we find the perfect gown for you!
We recommend you bring only a few people whose opinions you value the most. We’ve found the more people who attend the appointment, the more challenging it is, since it’s easier to lose focus on what is important to you, the bride, in finding your dream gown! If you have any heirloom pieces or particular shoes you know you’ll be wearing then bring them with you so you can get your entire bridal look on the first try! You are always welcome to bring pictures of gowns you really love or have already tried on! We love getting a visual of what you’re looking for! Also ensure you bring all the special people you need to “say yes to the dress”! You can never recreate the moment that you find your gown so always be ready!
Who should I bring with me to my appointment?
Are children allowed in the boutique?
It is best to make special arrangements for guests 10 years and younger, as our boutique isn’t intended for children. If a conflict arises, we will gladly reschedule your appointment. After all, we want this experience to be all about you!
We only sell dresses ordered directly from the designers. We do not offer consignment or accept donations, even if they haven’t been worn.
Do you buy pre-owned wedding dresses?
No, we do not rent them. All of our gowns are for purchase. However, do offer tuxedo rentals!
Do you rent wedding gowns?
Bring any special undergarments that you feel comfortable in. We also encourage you to bring pictures of any styles or dresses you’ve seen and loved. If you have any heirloom pieces or particular shoes you know you’ll be wearing then bring them with you so you can get your entire bridal look on the first try! Do I need to bring anything to the appointment?
We have a wide range of prices from anywhere to $300 up to $3,000.
How much do your dresses cost?
We have gown samples from size 2 up to 26. During your appointment the consultant will help you achieve the closest fit possible. Bridal sizes do typically run slightly smaller than standard sizes, so please keep this in mind when trying on.
What sample sizes do you carry?
We recommend shopping for your wedding dress at least 9-12 months before your wedding day. Most wedding dresses take about 4-6 months to arrive after they’ve been ordered. Don’t forget to give yourself time for alternations and fittings after the dress arrives. If you are short on time, dresses are available on a rush delivery for an additional charge. We also have a good selection of samples that we sell off the rack.
How far in advance do I need to order my gown?
Unfortunately, our space is so small we just don’t have the room to add an alterations department, however we can recommend an independent seamstress who specialize in bridal gowns. Alterations are not included in the price of your gown.
Are Alterations available at Weddings With Joy?
We work closely with LeatherCare, who are based out of Seattle, WA. Feel free to drop off your dress with us to get cleaned and preserved! If you purchased your gown from us, ask us about a special discount!
What can I do with my dress after the wedding?
Due to the custom nature of our business, all sales are final. We cannot accept cancellations once your order is placed or accept returns for whatever reason. We apologize for any inconvenience that may cause.
